The Traveling Film Plane
I’ve worked in-house for studios, for third-party production companies and free-lance with Young+Co for the past forty-five years, producing still and motion pictures. From large format to DSLR imaging, 35mm to full-frame digital motion. My craft has been applied to a wide range of stories from solid rocket fuel to a terrible Western American tragedy, photojournalism to coffee table books, and over the years I’ve captured not only the context of my destinations, but more recently the means in getting there along with Jack, all part of the story of my traveling film plane.
Now we travel North America, creating frames and curating light with the intent to capture peak experiences induced by beauty, contrast, texture, highlights and shadows and emotion.

Postcards
The film plane is the place where light is actually recorded in a camera. In the eye it is the optic nerve. The miles on my film plane have produced hundreds of composed images, from North America’s most geologically diverse and scenic regions to some of her best kept secrets. These photographs make up Y+Co’s collections of picture postcards, ready to share, send, and collect and curate your own way to appreciate their stories and natural beauty.
Notecards
Every once in a while Mother Nature shuffles the elements together and works her paradox in places where us mortals wouldn’t expect to find such evidence, and such was the cusp of Death Valley’s superbloom of 2026. In deference to her efforts, I’ve created a notecard series of five flowers from the bloom, each shot in the context of their nascence on a February evening in the Valley.
