Digital processing gives me the freedom (and luxury) to work in chroma and monochrome in the same film plane, knowing when I frame up a composition that I can find detail in highlights and shadow, pop or diminish each in post production, dodging and burning using the same modalities and creative bandwidth I learned in the darkroom. Now with algorithms in addition to light, I’ve produced images that put the viewer singularly there, that hopefully makes them increasingly human in its experience.
