When I wrapped a shoot in Salt Lake City, my dog, Jack, and I spent two weeks out on the San Rafael Swell in the middle of Utah. This was a new median in my time, a shift into healing and honest terms about myself as well as neighboring with the dirt, a phrase pilfered from my new favorite group, Wolf Alice, and the song, Bloom, Baby, Bloom. The Swell itself is a geological and natural history median, one that bears a visit and a stay.

My photography printed on canvas creates an heirloom piece with a surface quality that bounces light without disturbing the artwork’s contrast, color saturation and texture. I’ve chosen this print specifically for this process, enlarged to 36X24. The image is printed using fade-proof latex inks to preserve color accuracy and is mounted on a sturdy three-quarter inch frame with hanging hardware.
