The first time I came upon the phenomenon of coastal blowholes was during a documentary shoot in Tonga, so it was a pleasant surprise to come upon the Spouting Horn at Thor’s Well on the coast of Yachats, Oregon and witness again its visual and aural delights. One thing the two locations have in common is Captain James Cook’s role in bringing them to the forefront of discovery for the rest of the world.
